I love Tim Follin's arrangements of arcade game tunes for 8-bit and 16-bit computer conversions.

This is Tim's Amiga computer conversion of the Bionic Commando arcade game music. Love the daring, experimental Jazz Rock / Fusion style.

I've always been a fan of Tim Follin's arcade game soundtrack arrangements for 8-bit and 16-bit computers, like the Commodore 64 and Amiga.

Back in the early 1990s I used a Sony MiniDisc recorder to make this medley of his Jazzrock / Fusion style Bionic Commando game tune conversions for the Amiga.

@metin Nice, I'd only ever heard his C64 version before.

I was amazed at what I was hearing after buying the budget Kixx cassette version. hvsc.c64.org has the 12 kb SID file and archive.org/details/tim-follin has 16Mb of recordings.

Just found out that the original arcade music was co-composed by Harumi Fujita and Tamayo Kawamoto: "For example, if one song was 32 measures long, I would make the first 16 and the other person would make the last 16, and so on and so forth" timeextension.com/features/int

The interview also has a playthrough video of the arcade game and it's fun trying to work out which musical elements are Follin's (usually the freaky filter effects) and which are from the original arcade game.

hvsc.c64.orgHVSC - Commodore 64 music for the masses!

@foldworks Cool, I’m a Tamayo Kawamoto fan. She also composed the brilliant Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts tracks, and those of Forgotten Worlds. Thanks for the links as well, I’ll check them out. 👍
